My dad's IH 300 Utility gas started running rough and pouring black smoke. Figured the float valve needed replacing as it sounded like it was flooding. Did a carb rebuild and still did the same. When you turn the fuel off, a few seconds before it dies it begins to run perfect. So I took the carb off again and thought maybe the float needs to be set lower to lower the fuel level. Still the same. It is not running on number 2 and 3 cylinders unless the fuel bowl is nearly empty.
So I look at the electrical side. I clean the contact areas on the distributor cap and rotor. Now it won't even fire. Replaced the cap and it still won't fire.
I have 12 volts on both sides of the coil with no spark from the coil. I replaced the coil and still no spark from the coil.
The points didn't look burned but I cleaned them with a dollar bill anyhow. And they look like they are gapped properly.
What am I missing? He is needing to cut his grass bad.

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
