Well, rain has stopped for a few days so I went to ther field to mow again, (it's about a 4 1/2 mile trip one way. Before I went, I fueled it up. Tractor did fine while mowing (about 4 hours and almost 1/2 tank of fuel. On the way home, coming up my road it began falling off in mph and lost about 3ooo rpms. I fueled it back up and went to another field. This trip requires going over a pretty good sized hill and downshifting to 3rd (no problem) I mowed about 3 hours on a really steep reclaimed strip mine and came home. It didn't falter at all. I still am showing 3/4 tank of fuel. I'm wondering if there could be a hole in the pick up tube line in the tank. Seems like it's always about the 1/2 tank level when the problem starts. I didn't notice till yesterday about the fuel level, we always were thinking when something gets warm or rough ground making a wire loose or something. believe me the ground on both fields is rough with slips to go over so I'm pretty much leaning towards the tank as the problem. This tractor has never been ran any lower on fuel than this since I bought it new. Guess I'll have to pull the tank to find out.

How did I get this way? I came from the suburbs and own a small horse farm in rural Loudoun County, Virginia. You can call me a "weekend farmer." The local farmers do. Does it bother me? No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
