Cops generate most of the crap they have to 'put up with'. Few of them do the best they can. Almost all cops will escalate any situation to a confrontation if they can. My last stop was for my trailer swaying(it wasn't). After about 20 min of the guy walking all around, checking everything out, I asked him to just write the citation so I can go about my life. He did not like that 'attitude'. I pointed out the fact he is way beyond the 'minimum time needed to detain someone' for a traffic stop. He threatened to have me hauled out of my truck by force. So, I said I'll get right out and opened the door to step out, and sure enough - more escalation.
Cops don't have a hard job. Setup a speed trap. Write a ticket, move on to the next victim. Have a donut. About 95% of the altercations with citizens are due to the cop behavior.
