Just be sure you are really in the country and your place is far enough out to avoid hobby farms,neighbors who want to live country but drive 20-60 miles one way to the job and real estate hounds who want to develop a nearby 60 acres to build Calif. style housing. Yep, raccoons in the hen house, hawks overhead, turkey vultures who let you know when spring in season, and deer who regularly rob the open trough chicken feeders. I was a waterboy for a threshing crew when I was 8-9 years old, lived in small towns but never got country out of my system. Now retired with a still-working wife (a great arrangement ,bless her heart )but I am free to do whatever today..tomorrow...maybe not at all. Country for me until they put my ashes under my favorite apple tree!!!
