The new law in Minnesota is confusing but my understanding is that you are not supposed to drive in the left lane unless you are going at least the speed limit. You will get a ticket if you are driving in the left lane at less than the speed limit. They had a highway patrol representative on TV a few years ago and asked him about speed in the left lane. I agree with what he said "you are not a policeman, leave that to us." In other words if someone is behind you in the left lane and obviously wants to go faster than you are and there is room in the right lane, move over. Do not block the left lane. If everyone in front of me in the left lane is going the same speed as me and the right lane is to full to move over, I stay in the left lane until the right lane is clear. Bottom line is to be courteous to other drivers and don't worry if they want to speed. That is between them and the police. The left lane is there to be used if you need it.
