some read these posts thinking sure glad it hasn't happened to me but there was the time this happened................................. What the heck is wrong with this picture, some times you think u know best, an accident happens and your left to pay for it in some form or an other. Safty in the agriculture industry and on rural properties has been sitting on my mind for the longest time. I feel strongly that we are not safe enough, there's "zero" regulations inplace and hardly any safty requirments. Ive come up with the answer in my mind, I consider my self a fairly safty concious person, I can see the dangers in any situation. This is what we need, some one to visit farms, ranches, hobby farms and rural properties. Looking at how things are runn, basicly a second opion. How many of us have gone to farm auctions and saw a piece of equipment(home made) that we all scratch our heads lookin at, "how can that be safe". I know that the most insulting thing you can do to any one is walk onto there property, into there machine shed or work shop and tell them whats wrong. The alternative is you carry on being unsafe, come home injured or not go home again. Instead of paying out for life insurance, hows about paying into a fund for my wages to make sure you get home to loving wife and children, I would like to become a full time "rural safty Official". I Fully understand the presures of the industry as well as the mind set of the weekend farmer. But if your to busy to "STOP, THINK, OBSERVE and PLAN" atleast let some one else do it for you, so you come home in one piece at the end of the day!
