I agree that it is "really sad" but I don't think government intervention is the answer-if you want to screw up an efficient industrial operation, or even a government process, just call in OSHA and watch things come to a stop! An example: it doesn't do me a darned bit of good to read warning stickers all the way to the top of a ladder-I already know where I am in relation to the ground and the hazards of falling. The answer is in awareness and the use of good judgement-agency information cannot provide those. It just gives trial lawyers ammo for new, frivolous suits. We must share our experiences, especially the dumb and dangerous ones, with our families, neighbors, site members, and workmates, in the hope of encouraging safe practices. I personally have established some limitations on the future use of my tractor based on the testimonies of folks on these posts. I have a choice and I'm responsible for all of my future actions. And, life is tough and even tougher when we are stupid!
