Great story about the father-in-law...I know of what you speak! About 3 clicks down the road from me is a John Deere dealer, and I thought I saw something sitting in the field out behind his shop the other day...hmmmm... Thank you all for your suggestions, I think it's sage advice to get a little more power than I think I need right now, just in case. I'll go see that JD dealer on the weekend, maybe he has a line on a old basketcase somewhere. Incidentally, my dad had an 1946(?) Oliver 60. I'll never forget that tractor because I had a tin toy of the same tractor, and I painted it to the same color as my Dad's. Now it was an antique when he had it (1970's& 80's), but we never looked at it as something "precious" or "valuable". Too bad really, because it got sold along with the orchard and the farm. I have never seen an Oliver since, other than on the internet. I know I'd recognize one from a mile away, with that sloping front end that my Dad said made it more "aerodynamic" :) John

He had told my father
