It's good to hear from another A&P.My experience has been with radials and inline and V-type warbird engines that require a lot of maintenance as well as high octane fuel.I'm sure you're familiar with or have seen the purple 115/145 octane performance fuel these planes use.If you don't perform proper runup procedures,it will foul the cylinders-plugs,valves,and bore-with funky poisonous lead.I used to hate it,then I retired.I've found that lead is a better antidetonation additive than it is a valve stem lubricator.What do you think of the Slick 50 type stuff they sell?It aint the DuPont stuff by far!BillJ

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
