Bernhard- I've been watching this thread with interest; rule number one is get the best tractor you can afford BUT also get the one that you can get parts for easily and economically. Here in my area, none of your recommendations will work. Over here, Zetors are a joke. I recently retired and was thinking about getting into custom bush hogging on the side. I looked everything over closely, features, value, price, etc. and guess what "rang the bell?" Kubota. Sorry about that. If one puts brand loyalties aside and does an OBJECTIVE search, nothing else compares to a Kubota. Am I a big Kubota addict? NO; it's just the one that represents the best value for the money. I like my old tractors but they won't do the job for me. As far as Valmets are concerned, they look like a nice machine from what I can tell about them from the INTERNET; but that's about as close as I can get to one around here because there are not dealers within a reasonable distance and that goes back to one of the original rules when buying a tractor: go where you can get the service. There are lots of Kubotas on the job over here and they LAST and parts and service are readily available. That's what it's all about. You do what you need to do and I won't criticize you but I expect you to consider what I just said before you roll out anymore pompous posts. Have a good day.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
