Here are a few items sold today with prices. Very interesting auction. Very unique and old items.
Well, I just looked at my phone in the memo section... and all of my list is gone. I never use the phone to take notes and didn't know I had to press save. So all the tractor models and prices are gone. What I remember is:
Fordson in pretty good shape for never have been restored, just sitting in a shed, sold for $1,400 not running
That nice old Twin City model KT(?) very complete but very weathered $1,700
A couple of very old bigger JD sold for around $2,000. I can't remember the model. They were in same old shape like the rest but people really wanted them. Were they the D model? Sorry, I didn't try to memorize it all because I was writing it on the list on the phone that is gone. Many other JD models.
There was one tractor with a unique front end shape. It said Marion on it. I'll post a pic below.
One Hart Par.
One newer tractor a IH 560 that started great and had a loader and also came with a snow-pushing blade or whatever. ONLY $1,600! Isn't that cheap? I just couldn't believe that one.
One still-very-orange Case with a single wheel in the front.
Cute lighter weight JD with skinny steel wheels, really cute.
Several McCormick-Deering 10-20s and similar.
An Oliver.
Several old Internationals and Farmalls including F12.
AA Ford pick up truck. SO so nice and it runs. $6,600
Lauson Lawton gas engine made before 1917 $6,600
very old antique railroad baggage carts or so. One was damaged when they pulled it out of the dirt and had rotten boards and less paint $75. The other one in great shape $450.
Horseless carriage without the motor $450
My only purchase was a vintage range, brand new in the box but has been sitting in the barn since the 60s or 70s. Stove burners part is on the bottom and sits on a base (I'll have to build) and the oven is above so you don't have to stoop down to check if your pies are done. Has a fan and lights. Avocado green $5.00!
It was raining a very soaking rain and a steady 46 degrees until near the end of the auction. Very cold. Mud like I've never seen. Really, I mean MUD_DEE! If you stand in one spot too long your foot will be stuck. I saw several men half brown AKA they must've fallen down into the mud. Sale was right on a highway and nobody could drive down in there because of the mud, so it was a jam on the road with people trying to get through and us people trying to take our turn loading at the end of the driveway. This auction had such good old old stuff. Not any newer immediately usable farm equipment. A nice change of machine scenery.

Today's Featured Article - Old Time Threshing - by Anthony West. A lovely harvest evening late September 1947, I was a school boy, like all school boys I loved harvest time. The golden corn ripens well and early, the stoking, stacking,.... the drawing in with the tractors and trailers and a few buck rakes thrown in, and possibly a heavy horse. It would be a great day for the collies and the terrier dogs, rats and mice would be at the bottom of the stacks so the dogs, would have a busy time hunting and killing, all the corn was gathered and ricked in what we c
