Years ago I was operating an 8N with a rotary mower in rough conditions. The mower was about to stall the tractor engine when I depressed the clutch. Of course, the mower and tractor stopped. Because of the weeds, the tractor didn't roll backwards when it stopped, so the transmission was in a bind and I couldn't get it out of gear (no live pto). To top it off, I could not get the mower up out of the brush by raising it while the clutch was depressed (no live hydraulics).
I decided then that I needed live pto and live hydraulics.
