I never said we are "destroying' the planet- earth will continue spinning and orbiting the sun for the next 5 billion years or so, with or without us! People need to eat and heat their homes, they just need to do it in a more efficient way. We dont need to go back to the paleolithic, but we probably shouldnt be "rollin' coal" for a trip down the block to get a slurpee either. Recognizing the problem is a big part of solving it, denying something is happening makes it easy to ignore solutions that can help.
I didnt think I was preaching, just providing a counter point of view (albeit a decided minority here, it is the one also held by the vast majority of scientists world-wide). Its a free service I provide here when I can.
And yes, air pollution in China and India (2 emerging industrial economies) are off the charts bad, no question. It shows what can happen in a country without environmental regulations placed on industries. Unfortunately, my Hindi and Mandarin skills are limited, so I'll have to content myself with posting here!
