You sure sound like you are preaching to me. The old saying goes "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck."
I already do many things to be more efficient. When it was more efficient to use fluorescent lights, I converted the lights in my house to fluorescent. Now, it is more efficient to use LEDs so I use them. But, I also use the vehicle that suits my needs, and I mow the grass with a gasoline powered lawn mower. Also, the day has not arrived for me to buy a foreign vehicle. I will not buy a car from folks that tried to kill my father.
Also note that EVERYBODY has an agenda. Even those scientists that you refer to. In many cases, they are paid to say some of the things that they say. Their living depends on it in many cases. Just like I was told when I got into the trucking industry. There is the written agenda and there is the unwritten one.
Is there climate change? Sure. And there has been climate change since the Earth was formed. And, there will continue to be climate change for the next few billion years. Is it caused by man? I'm not convinced that we have had such a profound effect as we get credit for. Is there anything that we can do about it? Probably very little.
One thing is certain. We moved our pollution from here in the US over to Asia. Now, all of the consumer goods that we used to produce here are now made over in China and India. We had an overzealous EPA and OSHA that pretty much forced industry overseas. I agree that we need workplace safety, but is has been carried to an extreme. Certainly we need to keep our air and water clean, but the EPA has turned into a monstrosity that is taking things to unnecessary extremes.
The REAL solutions to this problem is to help those other nations to clean up as we did so long ago. It can be done, but it need not go to extremes as it has here.

As a kid he worked part time on a farm in Kansas doing many of the manual chores. Some of the more successful farmers of that day had a new time saving device called a tractor. It increased the farm productivity and, in general, made life easier because more work could be done with this 'mechanical beast'. My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
