Don't know how the average wage earner can buy a new truck, all 3 of the majors are over $70,000 for anything with any creature comforts.
My 2000 Chevy work truck, reg cab long bed 4x4 with 260,000 was showing it's age and mileage. Several months ago I started looking for a replacement. Really wanted a reg cab long bed with at least power windows and door locks. Manual windows and locks are a real pain if you want to do anything on the passenger side like lock the door or roll down the window for the dog.
After a couple months looking I had to settle for a Reg cab 6 1/2 foot bed. Every long bed truck I found was either a nothing white work truck or would take two foot ball fields to turn around. The 2010 Chevy 4x4 I ended up buying was a one owner Oklahoma rust free truck with the options I was looking for and it isn't white.
Paid 10 grand cash for a really nice 2010 charcoal grey reg cab short bed 4x4 Silverado V8. I added a few goodies, Line-X spray in bed liner, remote start and Diablo tune to get rid of the AFM (8 to 4 switch).

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
