In my opnion the Super A will not be strong enough for the scoop. The Worksaver 3 pt is only rated for 600 lb. And I don't think the overall set-up would stand up to the shock stress of scooping up a load of gravel. I'd be worried about breaking off the front rockshaft arm. I know my system would not even be able to lift 1,000 lb but I do have a rather weak pump.
On the bush hog...I thought about a pull model also but went with the 3 pt because that way the off-set PTO on the tractor and the shaft on the mower don't further "bend" when making a turn. The off-set has produced no problems for me. Your idea should work fine also Pete
