Well wife is still coughing a lot, but not getting worse either, so that's good. Had a little fever for a short time yesterday. But she looks better today, so we'll see.
I decided it was time to put the cattle out, so I had to get off my backside and Finnish the fence. Hung a few steel gates to start. The first one divides the yard in half.
All the wooden posts had been pushed up some from frost, so I pushed them back down with the loader. I think that was because they were set in the fall and the ground was so wet, most of them pushed up water when I pushed them down. Hopefully when the dirt settles that won't happen again. They are set 4' deep.
This Gate was a mistake, for some reason I thought it would be better to have two instead of one. Didn't take long to figure out that was a mistake. I'll likely change it to a single gate.
The wooden gate took a while to build. I like it tho.
Eventually that run to the left will be all wood too, but it is going to take some cleanup to do it because there is a bunch of old concrete and such buried there.
Steers really liked their new home. They kinda went crazy for a while.
I even had time to put together a feed bunk from some old lumber that was laying around. Not sure what I'll do today, but think I'll at least be cleaning the hog pen. Man they sure do make a lot of fertilizer now that they are getting bigger. The big ones must be 220 pounds now. They have appointments to become ham next month.
