My bil has a 1660 CIH combine with a Dt466 with the rotary fuel pump. While idling yesterday, it died. No restart. The primer/transfer pump on the rear of the injection pump would not pump-in fact it acted as if it was in a vacuum: when you pulled the plunger handle up, it sucked back down. Pulled the inlet line off and still in a vacuum. Pulled the check valve and it seemed stuck, but it did loosen and fall out. It had a little varnish on its side so we sanded it off and reinstalled it. With lines still off the pump handle still is in a vacuum and there is no suction at all on the inlet side. If I loosen the the check valve cap, it acts like it would pump, I felt outlet pulses, but I still could not feel any suction on the inlet fitting-probably sucking around the check valve cap. I cannot tell, but it looks like there was a seal on one the bolts that holds the transfer pump on; actually I am not sure the transfer pump is serviceable/removeable. So my question is where do we go from here? Thanks for any and all help, Mark.
