Mike, All of the other postings are good, but you may want check the engine RPMs. If you can find someone with a photo tach you could check the engine rpms against the spindle pulley speed to see if the belt is slipping also. The engine should run at 3600 RPMs no-load. You definetley want the front of the deck lower-read your owners manual, it tells you how to level the deck.
