I hadn't thought about how young some of the guys are on this forum, grandfathered in and got my CDL's when they first came out in 92-94, don't remember exact year, but I got everything but passenger bus, hauled more hazmat before CDL's than after, when they started finger printing and stuff I hadn't hauled hazmat in a while so I dropped it. Retired from professional driving in 08 after 30 years but still have my CDL's, better to keep them than go thru the trouble to get them back should I need them again.
Hauled a load of rubber that had one drum of rubber adhesive with the load, the adhesive was flammable over 50 gallons so hazmat placards were required.
Short time later hauled a 44000 lb load of 8" artillery rounds, it was considered non hazardous no placards needed.
I was more concerned about getting in a accident with the artillery rounds than with one drum of glue
