A moldboard plow will turn under heavier residue; i.e., wheat stubble, corn stalks, milo stalks, whereas a disc plow will leave a lot of residue on the top of the soil that is why disk tillers (otherwise more commonly called one-way disks) were used here in Kansas, mostly in the western half of the state. When residue in buried it will rot away faster than lying on top of the soil. So..they both have their advantages/disadvantages. Just an opinion from where I sit.
