Have never seen a disc plow in so. Indiana. Always thought they were used out in far west perhaps in wheat country. We have silt clay loam soil on top and down deeper there is high clay content. Seem like a disc plow might have trouble getting in the ground in some soils. Also wonder whether corn stalks would flow thru the disc plow without plugging the plow. The moldboard plow is supposed to be making somewhat of a comeback , we don't really see that here. Chisel plows and disc-rippers pushed the plow out of the picture in this area.
