Requesting information about the best way to install a gasoline fuel line on a 1948 Farmall H. The fuel strainer at the tank has what looks line a 5/16 female fitting as does the carburetor (with the brass filter in place). I am using a stainless steel line purchased from Brand X that came with two 5/16 compression(?)style brass fittings. Cannot seem to get the fittings to seat correctly. Hence, the fuel line leaks as both ends. Is there a better way of installing the line using flare nuts or some other method? I am not looking for a show tractor, just a functional one. Thanks.
