Spent last weekend combining my oats. Had some trouble with the first field that I never really figured out, and had a few breakdowns. So what should have been a few hours took all weekend. For what ever reason the first field would not feed into the machine. It either would not feed into the header auger or would build up between the auger and feederhouse chain. I have used this header several times and never had an issue. I made every adjustment that could be made to it in every direction and the best I got it was to feed very poorly. Add in a couple breakdowns and it took most of two days to do 6 acres. Then the second field fed perfectly as always and only took an hour and a half or so. Both fields planted and cut the same day and crops about as similar as possible. So no idea why it was that way. Tom the case combine expert says its aliens. I can't dispute that.
