I am surprised you got a ticket for burnt out headlight. Around here if a cop gave a ticket and not a warning for that he would be in court. No judge that I have ever heard about would allow a ticket for something that could have happened on the way home.
To me that is the same as if you have an accident fender bender and takes out a light or 2 they have to give you 30 days to fix, and if it goes through our insurance then you can drive till they settle with you or they fix it.
