I feel your pain. My radiator cap bit me also last year. I installed a new after market radiator. It fit,but was just a little different. I started cutting weeds. All of a sudden a big puff of white smoke came up from the engine. Coolant was spraying on the manifold. I started up again watching as best as possible for the leak. Then I saw it a stream of coolant from the new radiator tank seam. Took the radiator off, and back to the shop where I purchased it. I came back in a few days. The shop said the radiator didn't leak. Impossible I saw it, wrong. The problem turned out to be a bad cap over pressurizing the system. The top hose sprung a pin hole leak spraying coolant right at the radiator top tank. All my work removing the radiator in my JD 401 B was wasted time, plus driving 80 or so miles. Stan
