Here is a 1000 watt equivalent corn cob sandwiched into an old stadium light. This light has been on my shop forever but the old mogul based bulb just didn't put out much light compared to the LED yard light I have on a pole not far away. I have adaptors to adapt a small based bulb to mogul but the mogul base was recessed too far up into the fixture to get the corn cob to work. I took the light apart and replaced the mogul base with a regular small base and this is what it turned out to be. It is too bright to look at when it is on at night. It is many times brighter than a 1000 watt mogul based incandescent that would be the size of a volleyball and would make the light meter spin at a dizzying speed. This light is controlled by a switch inside the shop, no photo eye. I still have my fingers crossed on the pole mounted LED yard lights I have on the farm but so far they have held up very well.
