And just how mqany power valves and acc. pump diaphragms did you replace in that Motor craft carb . They do not like AL-KI-hol and it will eat them out just like on the Holleys . I remember all th issues we were having around here when Clark Oil started putting AL-KI-HOL in there gas back in the seventys . That company only offered one grade of gas and sold it at reg gas prices . At first it was great they offered a 105octane gas at low reg . gas prices . The gas ran vary well in the performance cars of the day sporting 10- 10.5 even on up to 12 to 1 compression ratios . and you could buy it for THREE CENTS a gallon less then other stations . around 72 -73 we as in everyone in the automotive ind. were starting to have problems wwith the Autolite/ Motor caft and holley carbs with hard starting and flat spots on acceleration stumbling and backfires thru the carb some leading to engine fires . Upon questing customers as how's gas they were buying everyone told us they used the Clark and it was found to have AL-KI-Hol in it and that ate the acc. pumps and power vale rubber . Holley did offer those two items that were safe to use with Al-KI-HOL . The only AL-KI-HOL i like comes in a velvet Black bag and is best with or with out ice. And Min. amount served is two fingers spread WIDE in a large glass.
