The post-war pride of Chagrin Falls! I think the rear transaxle was built by Clark. The engine is an IBX series Hercules and it has a Ross steering gear, which is, from my experience, usually bad on these tractors. They also had an early and crude 3 point hitch as an option.
They are a nice looking machine, reminiscent of the Jeep-based Empire tractor of the same era. You can also dump ALOT of money into one (Hercules parts aint cheap!) and in the end, its still- at tip-top, restored condition- a 2000.oo tractor at best.
If he gets into that transmission and needs parts, I have a derelict one in the fence row that might be useful...
