Yes that was supposed to be "wiring". I should proof read better. I'm sure the coil I put on it is 12v. However, as I previously stated, I installed a new ballast resistor. Then after ruining another new set of points, I decided "hmmm... this might be a could time to stop assuming and start measuring". With the key on engine off, I'm getting about 1 volt drop across the resistor. With the engine running, I'm getting a little over 14v from battery to resistor and still only about 1v drop. Another bad resistor? When I was shopping for resistors, I can't find values on them... how can I know if I am buying the right one. Obviously I can't trust the one I am buying is the right one just because it says it's for a Ford 2N. So, when I order another one, how can I know it's the correct one? what should the ohm reading be out of the box? What should the voltage drop be with key on engine off? What should the voltage drop be with engine running? What should my voltage be at the coil (i would assume around 9v)? I thought converting to EI because 12-14v would be ok right?

Today's Featured Article - Timing Your Magneto Ignition Tractor - by Chris Pratt. If you have done major engine work or restored your tractor, chances are you removed the magneto and spark plug wires and eventually reached the point where you had to put it all back together and make it run. On our first cosmetic restoration, not having a manual, we carefully marked the wires, taped the magneto in the position it came off, and were careful not to turn the engine over while we had these components off. We thought we could get by with this since the engine ran perfectly and would not need any internal work. After the cleanup and painting was done, we began reassembly and finally came to t
