Hi - I have a new to me 1970 ford 4400 gasoline and I am having trouble getting it to continue to run. The previous owner replaced the mechanical fuel pump with an electric one. The tractor started today and ran for maybe three minutes and died. Subsequent to that it would start but run maybe 10-15 seconds before dying. I thought maybe it was starving for fuel due to junk in the tank so I drained the fuel into a bucket. To confirm that was the case I then stuck the fuel hose into the bucket and figured it would run because it would no longer have issues getting fuel. Unfortunately still didnt stay running. I then pulled the outlet side and confirmed that there was good output flow from the pump, so I dont believe its that.
Any thoughts? Carb rebuild in order? air flow issue? Any tips I could try before going that route?
