Hi Antique Bill from Corydon, Right?? Send me that show info you mentioned this season but Im afraid its the week we go to Elnora (week after labor day). I think your ammeter and alternator are probably fine. Starting takes a good load out of your battery and when the alternator kicks in immediately thereafter, I think they do charge at their full rated (either 40 or 60 amp whatever one it is) curent for a brief period. However, they should drop down in less than a minute or so. If it just sits there on 60 amps for an extended perion (its regulator is bad), it will overcook that battery and ruin it. Let us know.
