I'm pretty sure my 8N had a fuel shut off valve, part of the sediment bowl assembly. Two positions, one to pick up fuel above the bottom of the tank to give a reserve indication and the second to take fuel from the bottom to get back to the barn for refilling when the main tank ran dry. Otherwise you can only do carburetor work after draining the tank which is a considerable bother. Gerald
