I have a '67 Ford 4000 3cyl gas 4x2trans with a factory loader. I use it mainly for logging, actually. It's a great machine. With proper maintenance, a 4000 will last forever and do perform a lot of work. $5000 is a good price, if the clutch & brakes are ok and it has a 4x2 transmission. Loader work is kinda tough on the front end, so check for good front tires, rims, and no cracks in the front axle. Personally, I would also stay away from the select-o-speed (SOS) tranny. You can search this site for many discussions on that topic! [putting on flame retardant flanel shirt!] Since ya know the seller & the tractor, I'd go for it. You should be able to sell it easy enough later if you decide you don't like it. Good luck, Ed
