Hello I have worked on both the JD and the IH. Parts are hard to come by for the IH, JD on the other hand is still providing parts and service & operators manuals. I purchased a JD 730 1956 model Diesel 10 years ago... you will have to get use to the hand clutch.. I ran down several fences before I got it under control. I have worn out one 6 ft mower and moved a lot of material with a box blade and that sort of thing... I use the JD to maintain a mile long grass aircraft runway and small farm (20 Ac. total ). As for and investment.. In South central Florida both tractors will bring about 500 to 800 more than you have quoted. In my opinion both will increase in value as the years go by. JPP
