JD or IH?

I am trying to decide between buying
a 1950 JD "B" and a 1948 IH "H". I have never had
a JD, but I always wanted one. The man selling has
one of each, both in excellent condition. Neither has
a 3-pt hitch, but I can get one very easily. Does anyone
know of any quirks or interesting aspects of either
of these tractors that might sway me one way or the other?
I have worked with farmalls and fords, but always wanted
a JD. The guy says I might be better off with the "H".
I'm kinda looking for an excuse to get the JD, but if
there are any serious problems that these tractors
tend to have, I will get the "H". Can anyone help me
decide. (the B is $1300 and the H is 1850.)
