Please don't start him before 11 or 12 and it all depends on the kid. My first memory's are of looking over the 26" wagon box and a team of horses pulling a load of potatoes. I pushed in the hand clutch of a 38 John Deere B before I started school. But I almost lost my life riding on the draw bar of a WD45 at 15. We hit a bridge approach, the driver slowed for the approach and then sped up. I fell between the tire and fender. I had many close calls before this and had always got out of it. I had lost all fear and Kids just don't have life's experiences behind them. Every year I read about some youths injury or death. Remember safety first!!!! You can't bring them back. Don't worry about his interest the longer he waits the more he will appreciate the experience
