I got into one of these with my father-in-law some years ago. Right steering clutch woldn't release. Three covers on top of rear housing under fuel tank expose steering clutches/brakes and ring/pinion. Clutch fork moved but we found clutch plates were rusted together. One clutch chamber was dry and one had oil in it. Ring gear had oil on top but was mostly water underneath and had broken teeth. Needed to replace clutch plates. The shafts must come out the sides and clutches out the top. Get help from someone who knows crawlers and BE CAREFUL before you buy. Ours also had 2-71 running on one cylinder with loose crank and needing blower rebuild, broken shaft on one track sprocket bad master clutch and track rollers worn out. Crawler repairs can get real expensive real fast. It was pretty good machine after repairs though.
