head gasket!

Went down to parts store picked up my 460 head I just had all redone and a gasket set got back to the shop open the box and the head gasket is stamped this side out! In pass all have been stamped "TOP" is this side out TOP! I know it sounds dumb , but I had a friend overhaul this tractor last summer and it been down 3 times since and runs terrible and I/m doing it my self this time! Thanks!
