Some things to consider... I have run into exhaust parts that are factory only - available only from dealers. Because of Govt. regulations, after market and muffler shops aren't allowed to make them. Factory exhausts are designed for the applications, to meet noise, operational requirements. You might get lucky and design something better, but not likely. Your replacement may well lead to problems such as back pressure, and lead to burned valves, etc. There are probably others on this board with far more experience with this than I, who can tell you more. But don't go into ripping parts off willy-nilly - exhaust systems always go hard, and there's potential for doing damage to parts you din't want to have to repair or replace, such as manifolds, etc.
