I have an 8n that I use to mow my 7 acres. I occasionally mow my neighbor's grass on either side of me, that makes my total mowing cover 20 acres. I use a 5 ft John Deer "rotary cutter" that I purchased used for $275.00. It has been almost trouble free for close to 4 years now. I mow mostly in 3rd gear, and with the use of an overrun clutch, can downshift on the fly while going over rough spots. I use the back wheel on the mower to help prevent scalping if the mower bounces..I guess what I'm saying is this, there are lots of good usable bargains out there for your 8n. Other brands work well with your tractor.
