I also use a tilt-bed. It makes the loading a lot easier and safer. About 5 years ago I acquired a manlift. I was loading it on a "58" International with an 18' flatbed on it. When I got on the ramps, the "foot" that I welded up for the rear of the truck to set on broke and lifted the front axel of the truck clear off of the ground. At precisely that moment my wife pulled into the driveway. Needless to say, I didn't load it that way again.
