What a Blast!

I just came in from working on my '63 Fordson Super Dexta. It was the first time I ever got to use it with a plow. We moved our garden from the hill it was on for the last couple of years to a flat spot across the road, which we purchased last August. We expanded the garden as well as moved it, and there was a lot of ground to be turned. The ground had been plowed by a farmer before, but my 5 HP rear tine tiller was just bouncing around on it and making life miserable. So I started calling around looking for a plow. An equipment dealer up the road aways offered to rent me his 2 bottom plow for $25.00. He didn't even ask my name, where I lived, or anything, just told me to bring it back when I was done, and fix anything if it broke. I got it home, fiddled around with my stupid Chinese chain hoist getting the plow out of the truck, and finally got it on the tractor. I told my wife I was going out to see how it worked. In no time at all I was done! There is a real visceral pleasure in sitting on a tractor watching the earth turn as the machine moves along. I was surprised at how much it affected me. Now I can get in there with that dinky rototiller and churn up all the real dirt with the mushroom soil and get the seeds in before summer is over.
Does anyone else here get this kind of kick out of plowing?

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
