Thanks for your reply. I plan on mostly using the tractor for the duties I explained in my first post. I'll be using it at least a few times a week if not everyday. The 3910 I looked at has a front end loader, which I do want, and I felt at home on that one - I'm not accustomed to power steering in a tractor, so that it lacked it didn't bother me. I just want to make the right purchase and get the tractor that can pull and use all the implements I listed in my first post. And I'd be using the tractor on approx. usually 5-40 acres or so. I also wonder about the importance of 4WD. And what are the earliest models that have it? I cannot afford brand new. I got along fine in Wyoming in a 1953 Ford which didn't have 4WD. I'm in Colorado now and though I don't plan on doing any mountain work on it, I may run into some sloping hills on rare occasions. I'm on flat ground where it will be used at home. The HP on the engine for the 3910 I was looking at is 47 and the PTO 43. Is this plenty for the implements I wrote about earlier? Auger, ripper, leveler, disk, harrow for arena and a brush hog? The 1715 I looked at had a engine HP of 25 and a PTO HP of 23. I guess because I have only been around older, stouter tractors, I'm having a hard time with the lighter, less HP models. I am not familiar enough with them to know if they can use these implements well in our soils, etc. I guess to start, I'm mostly wanting to know what HP is needed for the implements I'll be using regardless of model. Then I'll look into which make and model.
