The reason you can't do it with your Tracer is that it's front wheel drive. The Jeep probably doesn't weigh any more than the Tracer, but it has power to the back wheels.

If you really won't use this tractor for anything but pulling the boat, then look for something that doesn't have a 3 point hitch (e.g Farmall "M"). Old tractors without 3 points go quite cheap, since they aren't big enough to be useful to most farmers, and homeowners want to be able to use three point attachments.

My guess is that you will be better off in the long run getting something a little more flexible. If your budget can handle it, look for something with a three point hitch and live PTO.

Make certain and ballast the tires (water & calcium chloride), so that you have plenty of traction when you're in the water. Also, remember that the bigger the tractor, the harder it will be to get it out if you get stuck.
