I read several publications regarding trailer weight in New York State and was under the clear impression that with a pass license, non-commercial plates and not for hire that trailers didn't have a specific weight limit. The limit is 26,000 combined vehicle weight truck & Trailer. The other day I took one of those driver safety classes and read something about a 10,000 trailer limit but it wasn't clear. It was very clear the basic CDL had the 10,000 limit, but is slient or hazy on normal pass car licenses. not for hire non-commercial. If this is true - I could pull a 16,000 lbs trailer with a 10,000 truck - sound strange ?? But if commercial the trailer would be limited to 10,000. Any thoughts

Identifying Tractor Smells - by Curtis Von Fange. We are continuing our series on learning to talk the language of our tractor. Since we can’t actually talk to our tractors, though some of the older sect of farmers might disagree, we use our five physical senses to observe and construe what our iron age friends are trying to tell us.
