Greg ---- since you bought a 12v coil you need the put the resistor after the coil --- before the points....your points and condencer need to run on 6v....that is what your resistor does burns up 6v and lets 6v pass....dont touch the resistor it gets very hot....I think there is a article on converting a 9n ford ....Go to the left side of this page ...under RESEARCH & INFO. click on ARTICLES....Go down the listing until you find ..converting a ford 9n from 6v to 12v make sure yours is done right....They may have used the old 6v coil,if so the resistor will be placed before the coil......
