I read about this this morning. The Arab who ran OPEC during the '70s oil shortages is saying that if the U.S. goes to war against Iraq, oil prices will go to $100/barrel. He's full of black sludge IMO. We all know that didn't happen in 1991, and it won't happen now. It's about $30/barrel now. The U.S. is actually buying less oil from the Arabs and more from other countries, like Russia and non-OPEC countries. Bush has been pushing oil companies to buy it from countries other than the Arabs. If it ever got that high, you'd see all sorts of domestic oil hit the market, and the price would plummet.
