Yes, and a lot of those hunting shows are advocating that CRP ground should be open to all hunters without permission, because the farmers are being paid tax money to keep it out of production. Of course, there's no mention of who is going to pay for the improvements to the ground to allow access, liability insurance in case some idiot trips over an old fence and shoots his buddy, clean-up of trash left behind by careless hunters, and so on. I'm from an area that is heavily hunted by out of county and out of state hunters, and the damage caused by some of these idiots, and I'm not saying that they're all bad guys, far outweighs any monetary gains reaped by the local economy. Most fill their coolers with beer, spend a day driving around on county roads, tearing up fields, shooting game from the roads, and then go home to tell their wives and buddies what good hunters they are. Just the kind of guys every farmer would want traipsing around their property, with no control over what they do or shoot. As a hunter and fisherman, I know that the vast majority of them are respectful and careful, but a few rotten apples spoil the whole barrel. I wonder how much game has been driven out of those hunter's own backyards by their strip malls, housing developments and the like, forcing them to drive 50 or 60 miles to hunt.

Today's Featured Article - Talk of the Town: How to Remove a Broken Bolt - by Staff. Another neat discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: "I have an aluminum steering gear housing with a bolt broken off in it. The bolt is about a 3/8" x 1 1/2" bolt. I've already drilled the center of the bolt out with about 7/64" drill bit the entire length of the bolt. Only one end of the bolt is visible. I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t ... [Read Article]
