I use a hydrometer, one that has a
thermometer(sp) on the side and a float with
small medal balls in it . They are not cheap
last one was about 25, but easy and can be
hot or cold.

Use the temp and a chart that is on the side ,
match it with the letter on the float and tells you
with in about 10 deg. how good it is.

I had to order my last one.
